Rogan Art Tree of Life and Peacock Painting
This exquisite hand painted Rogan art wall hanging comes from Nirona village in Kutch, Gujarat. The 400-year-old textile art is practiced here by a sparse group of highly-skilled artists. In Persian, Rogan means oil-based; the artwork is created using thick and shiny paints made by boiling castor oil and adding colour pigments to it. Thread like strands of paint are trailed off a small hand-manoeuvred rod, onto a dark coloured cloth, making the vibrant hues stand out. Each element of the artwork requires immense time, agility and control.Dimensions
