Reflections of Antiquity, Black and Red Pochampally Single Ikat Saree
This aesthetically pleasing single ikat saree with a white diamond motifs laden black body is reminiscent of intricate latticework synonymous with the region’s archeological heritage. The mirroring elephant motifs in white and yellow interlaced in the red border add a tinge of royalty to it. The red pallav with a checkered pattern entwined between rows of classic chevron pattern in white completes the drape hand-woven using mercerised cotton yarn.
Prior to weaving the saree, yarns are required to undergo ikat 'tie/resist' dyeing in accordance with the envisioned design. Achieving desired results under this complex process requires meticulous planning and precise execution.
