Black Cotton-Silk Ilkal Saree with Chikki Paras Border
Handloom weaving in Karnataka's small town of Ilkal dates back to the 8th century. Ilkal sarees are distinguished by their borders, patterns and weaving techniques, unique to the cluster. The black and grey striped cotton body of this handwoven saree is interlaced with a red silk pallav which has traditional tope teni motifs. The chiki paras border is woven using rayon. This elegant and comfortable saree comes with fabric for the blouse and is ideal for both, daily wear or special get togethers.
