Artisanal Extravagance, Pochampally Double Ikat Saree in Black and Mustard
This magnificent saree has been hand-woven using the arduous double ikat technique. The saree’s grace stems from the beautiful black body interlaced with intricate design work of contemporary patterns with a playful mix of lines and dots in white. The solid mustard yellow border compliments the body well while the mustard yellow pallav adorned with rows of complementing geometric patterns in white adds to the grace of this ravishing handloom textile woven using mercerised cotton yarn. It comes with fabric for the blouse.
Prior to weaving the saree, yarns are required to undergo ikat 'tie/resist' dyeing in accordance with the envisioned design. Achieving desired results under this complex process requires meticulous planning and precise execution.
