Product Details
This scintillating drape has been hand-woven using one of the most coveted double-ikat techniques; ‘Telia Rumal’, sans the oil, which is no longer required while using contemporary yarns. The body of this elegant saree is adorned by an immaculate geometric pattern in red, white and black, reminiscent of traditional muggu (rangoli) designs. A solid royal red border runs along the body of the saree. Four vertical columns of muggu inspired patterns are interlaced in the red pallav of this work of art, woven using mercerised cotton yarn. The saree also includes fabric for the blouse.
Prior to weaving the saree, yarns are required to undergo ikat 'tie/resist' dyeing in accordance with the envisioned design. Achieving desired results under this complex process requires meticulous planning and precise execution.
