Product Details
Hand-painted with naturally-sourced colours, this Mata-ni-Pachedi painting of Durga Mata (Maa Durga), the Goddess of strength and motherhood, depicts her journey during rath yatra. A chariot pulled by three lions houses the powerful Goddess while devotees celebrate her presence around the rath. The predominance of red in this painting symbolises auspiciousness, making it one of the artisans’ preferred hues in most Mata-ni-Pachedi paintings. Mata-ni-Pachedi, an artform created by the nomadic Vaghari community of Gujarat, literally translates to "behind the Mother Goddess". To truly appreciate this handcrafted product, we would like to invite you to meet the artisan, Vasant Manubhai Chitara and also see this masterpiece, in person (of course virtually). Don't let distance get in your way, drop us a message on WA Business 6364665722 or an email to support@tvami.com and we can arrange a call to see this authentic handmade painting.
