India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his recent trip to Japan gifted pieces of traditional arts and crafts to foreign dignitaries and Heads of States. The list included artworks belonging to Gond, Sanjhi and Rogan art form along with Pattamdai Mats or pattu pai, as they are popularly known. The PM has been spreading the vibrancy of India's rich history and culture which is reflected in our crafts. Just recently, before his trip to Japan, he presented a beautiful Dokra artefact made of brass, a silver Meenakari bird figurine from Varanasi and Rogan art painting from Gujarat to members of the Danish royal family on his visit to Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Such gestures shall help highlight the skill and talent of our craftsmen on the world stage, helping them gain some deserved recognition.
