Yesteryear preserved in perfect miniature. Splashed with vibrant, rainbow hues, Etikoppaka toys are a tribute to a simpler time, forever frozen in lacquer colours.

And what a history lies beneath the glossy surface! Etikoppaka toys, in particular the boxes and bowls, were smothered with goodwill and love for over a century. The bowls were privileged carriers of aromatic herbs and honoured members of a bride’s trousseau. Miniature kitchen sets became connoisseurs of flavour and global fare for children. Truly, a glorious time for imagination to run riot!

The toys themselves have a simple, yet meaningful origin story. Wood forms the humble base, crafted with no edges or corners, and painted with natural dyes derived from seeds, lacquer, bark, roots and leaves.

A 400-year old Etikoppaka toy legacy that proudly bears a Geographical Indication (GI) tag bestowed by the central authorities. Forever moving forward, yet frozen in time.
